Deadlines & Notification


MLML accepts applications for Fall semester only, beginning October 1. Applications are due by February 1, and all required supporting documents are due by February 15.

Applicants must apply to at least one CSU consortium campus via CSUMentor by February 1 and send separate application materials to MLML and each CSU consortium campus applied through no later than February 15. Although a CSU consortium campus website may display an application deadline later than the MLML deadline, the final supporting document deadline is February 15.

Application Review & Notification:

The application review process consists of the following steps. First, each CSU through which the student applied must determine whether the student meets the minimum eligibility requirements to enroll in the M.S. program. Each CSU requires official copies of transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended and an application through the CSUMentor system, accompanied by payment of the application fee. Some of the CSU consortium campuses require official copies of GRE scores. Please consult the Office of Graduate Studies at each CSU for minimum eligibility requirements. Once the MLML faculty have chosen to accept or deny a student, MLML will notify the applicant and the CSU. Finally, the CSU will notify the applicant that he or she was officially accepted to the CSU. 

Applicants can expect to receive an admission decision from MLML before April 1.  Students accepted by MLML should receive official CSU admission notification soon thereafter. The applicant is not officially accepted until he or she receives an acceptance notification from both MLML and the CSU.
